Alan E. Klugman - National Executive Director![]() Alan E. Klugman currently serves as Executive Director of ORT America. An exemplary senior Jewish communal professional, saluted by his peers as a visionary, Mr. Klugman has more than 20 years of expertise in strategic planning, leadership development, major gift solicitation, campaign planning, and team-building. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President of the Jewish Federation of Palm Springs and Desert Area, in Rancho Mirage, CA. Prior to that, he served as Associate Executive Director of the Jewish Community Federation of Louisville, KY. As Executive Director at ORT America, Mr. Klugman employs his experience and expertise to raise the level of fundraising and strengthen the organization’s profile and visibility within the philanthropic world, both in the United States and globally, and grow the organization within a framework of fiscal responsibility. He works closely with ORT America’s top leadership on cultivations and solicitations, identifying, developing and motivating volunteer leadership for the organization. Mr. Klugman earned a B.A. from Connecticut College and his M.S.W. from Wurzweiler School of Social Work. Fluent in Hebrew, Mr. Klugman lived and worked in Israel for eight years, developing an insider’s understanding and appreciation that will be invaluable for our Kadima Mada initiatives. He and his wife, Orly, are the proud parents of two grown children, daughter, Sarit, and son, Nadav, and a daughter-in-law, Brett. |
Adam Bronstone - Director, Trades & Professions Division and Consultant for Special Projects![]() Adam Bronstone is the Director of Trades & Professions Division and Consultant for Special Projects for ORT America. Adam joined ORT America in March of 2013, after spending a decade working in a number of Jewish Federation organizations in Jacksonville, Broward County (Florida) and New Orleans. Previous to his Jewish work, Adam worked at a chamber of commerce in Kansas City, Missouri, in the area of economic development. Adam is from Canada, and has undergraduate and graduate degrees in the area of political science. |
Marla D. Landis National Senior Director Major Gifts & Planned Giving![]() Marla Landis brings a passion for serving the Jewish community in her roll as Senior Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving for ORT America. Marla has spent her professional life in the organized the Jewish philanthropic world where she has developed key relationships with lay leaders and donors. Marla takes great pride in connecting donors with the beneficiaries of their generosity. An understanding of the local, national and international Jewish philanthropic community has been instrumental to her success when cultivating and encouraging donors to give major gifts and develop endowments to ORT America. Prior to arriving at ORT America, Marla spent over ten years with the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA formally UJC), as a Director in the National Development Department. Her portfolio included Major Gifts, National Women’s Philanthropy, JFNA National Young Leadership Cabinet and Alumni, the C3 Team. She also served as a Young LeadershipTeam leader and member in communities across North America. Before moving to JFNA, Marla served as the Women’s Department Director for the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles/Valley Alliance for 12 years. Marla also held many positions over her 15-year tenure at the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Los Angeles. Marla’s long and consistent record of accomplishment in Jewish development is widely known among lay and professional leadership. Recognized by her peers for always maintaining a positive attitude and a “can do” approach, she will tell you that working in the Jewish community is much more than a profession, it is an obsession. The relationships she had developed around the world continue to inspire her. A native of Los Angeles, Marla is happily married to Stephen, and is the proud mother of three beautiful adult daughters, Sarah, Gabriele and Alison and a new son-in-law, Heywot.. Additionally, she is an avid Jewish camper. |
Lawrence R. Ludwig - Director of Management Information Systems![]() Lawrence R. Ludwig joined the ORT family nine years ago. Larry received his undergraduate degree in Computer Science at Queens College of the City University of New York in 1988. Since then, he has worked for over twenty years solely in the non-profit fundraising sector, including nearly ten years in the Development Office at the American Museum of Natural History. In his spare time, Larry enjoys traveling and spending time with his son Jason as well as doing anything relating to soccer. |
