Your Dollars at Work

Have you ever wondered how your dollars translate into the good, services and help ORT provides students around the world? Here are only some of the ways that generosity like yours supports the ORT programs and helps the over 300,000 students and beneficiaries in over 60 countries each year become productive citizens and lead their families and communities forward.

  • $75 helps ORT provide the latest technologies to schools so students are prepared to enter today's job market and pursue fulfilling careers.
  • $150 covers the cost of textbooks and school supplies for a student for one year.
  • $250 helps an e-learning center bring students from St. Petersburg or Haifa together with students Prague or Santiago to learn and interact.
  • $550 supports one Student at Risk by providing essential needs such as books, school supplies, hot meals, clothing and transportation vouchers to an economically disadvantaged student for a year.
  • $1,000 covers the cost of a computer and related software so an economically disadvantaged ORT student in Israel can keep up with school assignments.
  • $1,800 trains teachers in Israel for one semester on the use of new science and technology labs as well as their applications.
  • $2,500 supports tuition for one child to attend ORT Renzo Levi, the only Jewish day school in Rome.
  • $5,000 covers the cost of a five-year scholarship for one Jewish student to attend ORT Uruguay University.
  • $10,000 covers the cost for an entire grade of student participation in extracurricular programs, such as school trips, after school programs, and art and theater projects.
  • $18,000 covers the cost of an after school program in math, physics and chemistry.
  • $100,000 funds the installation of a state of the art computer lab in Israel, Argentina or the former Soviet Union.

From Israel to Argentina — and so many other places around the world where current events mean uncertain times — an education is often the only promise of an improved life and a brighter future. With tax-deductible donations from people like you, we help educate 300,000 students and beneficiaries who are hungry to learn reach the goal of a better tomorrow. In addition to showing your support by becoming a member of the ORT America family, we offer several giving options that let you show greater support in a way best suited to you.

Basic Giving Options:

One Time Gifts: Choose your giving level and make a one time gift online with a credit card or if you prefer, you can print out a donation form to be completed offline and then mailed of faxed in. For printed forms sent in, we’ll will send you a bill with reply envelope.

Monthly Giving: For those who champion the cause of education as an ongoing effort, we offer giving levels for every budget. You decide how much you'd like to give per month and it’s automatically charged to your credit card.

Tribute Gifts: Contribute in memory of a loved one or in honor of a special occasion.  Bringing education, opportunity and change to communities in need is a wonderful way to honor a friend or family member.

Planned Giving: ORT America offers several planned giving options that can be tailored to your individual goals – including Gift Annuity, Life Insurance, Bequests, Charitable Trusts and more. Campaign-Specific Giving

Students at Risk:  Did you know that thousands of ORT students live below the poverty line. They can't afford the basic necessities needed to attend school. ORT America’s Students at Risk campaign is an ambitious global effort that aids economically disadvantaged students in many countries where there is an ORT school or program. Kadima Mada (Science Journey): This science and technology education program is revolutionizing education in over 30 communities across Israel, mostly located on the periphery of the country in the north and south including schools on the border of Gaza and typically characterized by having high levels of unemployment, high levels of new immigrants, and high student dropout rates. CIS / Baltic States in Crisis: Since the early 1990’s, ORT has been the only provider of Jewish education to the secular Jewish community in the CIS and Baltic States. Today, this network of 17 day schools, with over 6,000 Jewish students is in danger of collapsing under crushing financial difficulties.
