For the third-year running, supporters of ORT attended the “ORT and the City” fundraiser to celebrate art, culture, and ORT. Held on May 18th in Shed 5 at Eastern Market, close to 400 attendees from all of Metro Detroit, gathered for an evening of cocktails, strolling dinner served via food trucks, and a silent auction featuring chairs designed by nationally recognized Detroit artist who were hand selected and sponsored by high profile, local art collectors and gallerists.
This year’s fundraiser generated over $100,000, which helps sustain ORT’s mission to provide students from the most impoverished communities the highest level of science and technology education and the skills needed to escape poverty and achieve economic self-sufficiency.
Jessica Kwartowitz, Deborah Rosenthal, and Marlo Scott, served as the Event Co-Chairs, and were supported by a diverse Planning and Host Committee, in addition to an Art Advisory Council.
